Like a piece of treasure dug up from antiquity, The Relic Necklace is a haunting mix of strength and organic beauty. The first necklace of the Delos Collection, and a piece as individual as the wearer.

The Relic Necklace is handmade in wax and then cast in my home studio in San Diego, Ca. The haunting labradorite cabochon sits on a layer of sterling silver that floats above the base layer which is supported by sterling silver balls. The labradorite is cut and shaped to fit the pendant by yours truly and then secured with 2 prongs along the base of the pendant. The top of the stone is bezel set, so this piece is locked in securely.

The chain is handmade of 14 gauge recycled sterling silver wire that has been shaped and hammered into The Lynne Link, named after my incredible mentor Lynne Merchant. Each link is then connected with a 16 gauge handmade jumpring, also recycled sterling silver. The closure is a handmade S Hook that keeps this necklace firmly in place. My makers mark is etched into the back.

Labradorite is said to represent the “temple of the stars” and helps to sustain, maintain, and help a person understand the destiny they have chosen. The energy of labradorite helps to transform intuition into intellectual thought so that it can be put into action. Labradorite stimulates mental acuity, reduces anxiety and stress, as well as can aid in digestion and metabolism.

• The prong settings do stick out slightly from the stone, so there is the possibility it can snag on clothing. Do take care and note that I am not responsible for any possible damages. I have worn my prototype 24/7 for a week and have had absolutely zero issues!

The Delos Collection is a series of rings, pendants, and earrings based on the myth of the ancient “floating island” of Delos. It’s first mentioned in Greek mythology as the birthplace of twin gods Apollo (the sun god) and Artemis (the goddess of hunting, wild animals, and the wilderness). It was a sacred place to the Greeks.
